Eric helps develop and protect his clients’ intellectual property (IP) assets using his 18+ years of combined legal and engineering experience. His practice focuses on patent preparation and prosecution, patent analysis, IP due diligence, and IP portfolio management. Eric also handles a variety of other legal issues, including negotiating licensing agreements and developing policies and procedures for his clients.
Eric works with clients of a variety of sizes, from large multi-national companies to individuals launching a new business. Eric also works with a variety of business types, including corporations, LLCs, start-ups, and agricultural cooperatives (farmers’ co-ops).
Eric’s patent work covers a variety of technical areas including: mechanical devices, Internet-of-Things, manufacturing technology, consumer products, artificial-intelligence (AI) enabled or machine-learning (ML) implemented software, data storage systems, semiconductor devices, telecommunications, materials science, propulsion systems, general electronics, and Internet-based technology.
Eric regularly volunteers as a legal consultant for small business development groups, particularly on IP issues. In his spare time, he can often be found working on a home improvement project, car, motorcycle, piece of equipment, or anything else that needs maintenance or repair. He also enjoys spending time with his family, including camping in the summer and snow skiing in the winter.
