TrueSpace Fall Speaker Series

TrueSpace hosted New York Times Bestselling Author, Curt Coffman, last week for conversation around the secrets of high performing organizations and the cultures that drive their success. Coffman shared research from his book, Culture Eats Strategy for Lunch and delivered a presentation on the practices of extraordinary cultures and their uninspiring counterparts. From there, the connection between two fundamental pieces of a successful organization, strategy and culture were explored. Coffman guided the audience through the importance of creating a strategy that fits your culture and offered practical implications for how to turn culture into a competitive advantage, rather than the enemy of strategy. He then shared significant characteristics that the top culture have in common; being specific about practices and organizational uniqueness, deliberate values, and making clear how all elements attract and keep customers. Coffman left the audience, a total of 31 attendees (7 of which were either Partner Members, Business Members, or Capital Partners) with practical action items they could implement immediately in their own companies.

Live Webinar: Overcoming 101 Rejections for Computer and Electronics Related Patents

A live CLE webinar on Thursday, February 11, 2016 @ 1:00pm EST. Can’t attend the live program? Reserve a recording here.

Since the Supreme Court’s decision in Alice Corp. v. CLS Bank, the USPTO has dramatically increased its rejections under 35 U.S.C. §101, and the federal courts and the Patent Trial and Appeal Board have been increasingly active in invalidating issued patents. Further, the USPTO has released several memoranda, most recently in July 2015, and solicited public comments, concerning patent examination under Alice.

Applicants can anticipate more rejections going forward. Those who receive a §101 rejection and their counsel must plan and carefully implement well-thought-out strategies for deciding whether to file and for overcoming patent eligibility rejections issued in pending applications.

Charles Bieneman, Member at Bejin Bieneman and Richard J. Holzer, Jr., President at HolzerIPLaw, will provide guidance for patent counsel for overcoming §101 rejections for computer and electronics related patents. The panel will review recent case law and USPTO guidance on §101 patent eligibility and offer strategies to address §101 rejections.

The panel will review these and other key issues:

What impact has the Alice Corp. decision had on §101 rejections?
What strategies should patent counsel implement to overcome §101 rejections?
How can patent counsel guide applicants in reducing the likelihood of rejection?

For more information or to register, click here or call 1-800-926-7926 ext. 10 (ask for 101 Rejections for Computer and Electronics Patents on 2/11/16and mention code: PP1PJ1-8ZJ1XY)
